Welcome to Lighthouse Counseling, Wendy Johnson, LPC! About Wendy: "As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I love helping children, adolescents, and their families find healing and restoration through the therapeutic process. I enjoy working with children who are struggling with life changes, anger, anxiety, ADHD, depression, disruptive behaviors, self esteem issues, and trauma. Under the umbrella of a person-centered approach, I often use play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, brain-body connection therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. I love empowering children with the tools and resources to find stability and success in life.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I graduated from Auburn University with a BA in Psychology in 2003 and received an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from LaGrange College in 2019. I have additional training in ADHD and Brainspotting, an approach for the treatment of trauma. In 2015, I became a Court Appointed Special Advocate and worked with children in foster care. Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse population in various settings including community-based counseling, school-based counseling, group homes and with the judicial system."
